"Quest of Persia: Lotfali Khan Zand" Walkthrough - English Version

Zarghan-Level 1

The game starts from outside the Zarghan fortress. You need to defeat Kalantar's (red) soldiers with the help of the loyal Zand (orange) soldiers, in order to move towards the entrance of the fortress. Keep in mind that the Zand and  Qajar swords are more powerful than your default sword, however, they will break after several hits. Be sure to use these swords to your advantage. Since, the snipers will attack you when you are trying to reach the entrance of the fortress, try to move as fast as possible towards the entrance.

Zarghan-Level 2

In the cut-scene you see that after you enter the fortress, the door closes behind you. In this level Kalantar's snipers will attack you, but you can dodge (by pressing the space key) right after you hear the attack command. After passing the first part you see stairs on your right. There are two ways to finish this level. The first one is to go up the stairs, defeat the enemies, then use the cannon to attack the snipers and then come down the stairs and kill the remaining enemies at the end of the level. The other way, which is slightly easier is to not go up the stairs, but continue moving forward just using the dodge in the right moment to pass the snipers, and then kill the enemies at the end and go to the next level.

Zarghan-Level 3

In this level, you need to first defeat three enemies and then move forward. You hear the voices of Kalantar's soldiers who want to stop you, go back and help your friends in the battle. Using the (E+E+E) combo throw one enemy on the ground and fight with the others. After defeating them a sniper will attack you. You can kill him by hitting the scaffold with your sword and dumping it on his head. At the end of the level you will see three more soldiers. Break the boxes with your sword to get the rifle or health bottle, which will help you in defeating.

Zarghan-Level 4 (First Boss Fight)

Hadi Khan Brujerdi's health is 1000 units, and since Lotfali Khan has only 100 units, the battle seems to be unbalanced at first.

However, if you study Hadi Khan's behaviour a little, you will find out that when more than 100 units are decreased from his health, he will go to a recovery status. If you long enough so that he loses  200 units, you will see that his health will gradually decrease, otherwise he will recover. Also, you will realize that when the first 100 units are decreasing from his health, the sword hits are more effective, but when he is in recovery (because of the short 5 seconds of recovery time) rifle is the weapon of choice.

Therefore, attack him with sword and combos, when he goes to recovery, hit him with two gun shots and do the same routine once more, and finish him with the sword. Keep in mind to use dodge and defensive moves when he is attacking. His powerful attacks with two swords can be deadly. There are enough health bottles and rifles in the level. If you ran out of rifles on the ground, there are plenty of them on a shelf that you can use. When Hadi Khan's health reaches 150, he drops his sword and escapes.

Between the forth and fifth level of Zarghan you see in a cut-scene, that Arashk (the hero from Quest of Persia I) is captive in the hands of Kalantar's soldiers. Lotfali Khan feels that this prisoner will play a vital role in the battle. This is a part of the main "Quest of Persia" plot, which will be revealed in the future games.

Zarghan-Level 5

In this level you get to use Hadi Khan's double sided sword, which is very powerful. After killing the initial enemies push the barrels aside with your sword to make your way. In the next section snipers will hit you from the top, dodge the bullets and move on. If you try to run up the stairs the snipers will hit you, instead go towards the wood on your left, and defeat the snipers on the roof. Then move towards the stairs, defeat the enemies (don't get too close to the right wall, the snipers will hit you there). Then use the cannon (press F) to destroy the snipers and the wall, and move to the next level.

In the Loading page you see Leyla (a character from Quest of Persia I) looking at the blue print that shows the door mechanism, which Lotfali Khan solves at the end of this level. Why Leyla is looking at this mechanism is an important part of the future games.

Zarghan-Level 6

Move up from the hole in the wall created by the cannon. Defeat the enemies on the top, and push the box in front of the next hole using your sword. Move through the hole, and then to the yard where you have to find a mechanism to open the door, so that your loyal Zand soldiers will be able to join you.

In the yard, there are two handles close to the main gate. First move towards the left handle grab it by pressing F and then move it forward by hitting E repeatedly. Then do the same for the right handle. Now, you can turn the wheel in the middle by pressing F, and hitting E repeatedly to open the door.

Zarghan-Level 7

At the beginning of this level the "Persian Hurricane" combo will be introduced. This will be enabled after five hits. While grabbing defense (right-click), by pressing E, you can use it to throw away all the enemy soldiers who are surrounding you. Move up the stairs and defeat the enemies in the second level. (Break the boxes for rifles and health bottles.) After moving up the second stairs, move around and push back the barrels. Then move the handle (same as before F and repeated E) to clear the way and move up the stairs for the last fight for controlling Zarghan. This will be one the hardest battles in the game. So, use the upgrades and the "Persian Hurricane" wisely. After finishing the enemies move up the left stairs to move to the next level.

Zarghan-Level 8

As you see in the cut-scene animation, although Lotfali Khan gains control of the fortress, the Qajar army attacks the fortress in the middle of the night. In this level hit the cart with the sword to throw it on the Qajar soldiers. Go down the stairs and defeat the enemies, and move through the stairs to the next level.

Zarghan-Level 9

In the beginning of this level Qajar cannons destroy parts of the fortress. Defeat the Qajar soldiers down stairs and then move up to finish the rest of them and move to the dark corridor into the next level.

Zarghan-Level 10

Move down the stairs and you will face the Qajar officers for the first time. These black officers will defend against your attack. The key is to hit them when they are attacking you. Move forward to the next area where you will fight different enemies. It will be easier to defeat the officers first and then take care of the rest. Move up the stairs and go to the right (if you need upgrades go left). After defeating the enemies upstairs find your way towards the end of the level.

Zarghan-Level 11 (Second Boss Fight)

You will face Mostafa Khan Qajar in this level. His attacks are deadly, so be careful to hit him, dodge, and use the health bottles wisely. When his health reaches 800 units, two Qajar soldiers will accompany him, which makes the battle impossible to win. Try to kill them first using a rifle if you have one. Use the "Persian Hurricane" wisely. After killing the two soldiers continue to hit Mostafa Khan Qajar hard. Eventually he will escape and you will get to try his two swords, which has it own combo moves.

Zarghan-Level 12

At the beginning of the level you will face an officer and a Qajar soldier, try the (E+E+E) combo, it's very powerful and effective. You may also try the other combos as well. Move up the stairs into the room and then move down the stairs. You will see that the door forward is closed, move back and break the vases so that you see the handle. Use it to open the door, move into the final parts of the level. Qajar's cannons destroy parts of the level in your way. Defeat the enemies at the end and move to the next level.

Zarghan-Level 13

As you will see in the cut-scenes the Qajar soldiers surround Lotfali Khan and he escapes through a well. The level starts in a cave tunnel which is under the well, and reaches the towers outside Zarghan. Move forward, and you get surrounded by Qajar soldiers again. This time around Jahangir Khan Sistani will help you out and will assist you in the battle. He fights with two swords and has his unique battle style. After defeating the enemies in the first part follow the tunnel until you reach an intersection. First go right and destroy the enemies there and then come back and go right to clear out the officers there and go to the next level.

Zarghan-Level 14

The next level is the room underneath the tower, kill all the enemies there using your powerful two swords and reach the final hall, where you get to kill the rest of the Qajar soldiers and find your way towards the tower.

The cut-scene shows that the Qajar army destroy the Zarghan fortress, and Lotfali Khan escapes towards Kerman.

Kerman-Level 1

As you see in the previous cut-scene, Lotfali Khan tries to attract the attention of the Qajar soldiers, so that they can be targeted by Zand snipers in the next level.

Even though there is a sneak kill option in the level to eliminate enemies, you can also fight them the normal way. Then go to the end of the alley and press F to move behind the box and hit E repeatedly to push it towards the scaffold.

Once the scaffold is broken, its resulting sound will alert the Qajar soldiers, who will come running towards you. Watch the rest of the cut-scene...

Kerman-Level 2

At the beginning of the level, be careful not to move backwards towards the end of the alley, as otherwise you will get shot by the Qajar soldiers. Therefore move towards the scaffold, pass it carefully, wait for the soldiers who are following you to come close and only then hit the scaffold with your sword to burry them underneath it. When you are in front of the mosque, a large number of enemies will attack you. There is no possible way to defeat all of them. Press F to command the snipers to target and shoot them. But hurry! You need to command your snipers before you get hit by the enemy. Each time it takes around 20 seconds for the snipers to get ready for a new attack. You may use the "Persian Hurricane" option if necessary, but it would be easier to just keep running and command your snipers to take care of the job. Keep in mind that the F button is also a command for picking up swords. And as there are lots of swords on the ground, pressing F might sometimes result in picking up a sword instead of commanding your snipers for attack. After eliminating all the enemies enter the mosque.

Kerman-Level 3

After the cut-scene finishes, you find yourself surrounded by the enemies. Try to defeat the enemies and get yourself to the northern part of the level , where more enemies are dispatched. Defeat them and go to the next level.

Kerman-Level 4

Use the command button to utilize the power of the snipers in order to eliminate the enemies. Only hit the enemies yourself at the end of the level. A couple of them will remain in this level, either kill them using the snipers or push the box on the side with your sword and make your way back. On your way back kill the enemies and go through the alley to finish the level.

Kerman-Level 5

As you see in the cut-scene and you hear Lotfali Khan's thoughts, the only way to go forward is to eliminate the enemy snipers who are sitting on the top of the bazaar's gate. Dodge till you reach the scaffold, and hit them with the sword to make the snipers fall down and die, then defeat the rest of the soldiers and enter the bazaar.

Kerman-Level 6

In the cut-scene Lotfali Khan takes control of Kerman and declares himself the king of Persia. In this level, you can obtain weapon upgrades easily since you are the king. Make sure that you get the power sword. This will be vital for future levels. Move towards the left exit where there is an ambush. Use the (E+E) and (Left-click+Left-click) combos to defeat the Zand soldiers who betrayed you. You need to be bold and attack them in surprise. If you wait they will kill you within a second. After you defeat them, move towards the door and progress to the next level.

Kerman-Level 7

The cut-scene shows that Aga Mohammad Khan's army attacks Kerman. When you start the level parts of the level fall down, move through the corridor where you get engaged in a full battle. After defeating them, you will face couple of officers, defeat them, and move to the next level.

Kerman-Level 8

First eliminate the Qajar and Kalantar soldiers in the alley, then you will face a couple of Qajar soldiers which you must defeat using your powerful new sword. Consequently, push back the barrels using your sword and enter the final part of the level, where you engage in another battle facing all the enemies. Defeat them and move through the door to the next level.

Kerman-Level 9 (The Last Level)

After a very moving cut-scene you will enter the last level with two swords. Kill a couple of Qajar soldiers, and move to the final area where you will face Mostafa Khan Qajar one more time. Fighting him in a more open area and with two swords is much easier. When his health reaches 800, a Qajar, and Kalantar soldier will accompany him, you can escape and hit them at the same time. After killing Mostafa Khan you will witness a surprise ending...
